Selling

The Event Cancellation Fee

Cancelling an event after tickets have sold costs $25 plus 5% of ticket sales, capped at half of what your tickets sold for. Free events and events with no tickets sold are exempt.

1

What it is

If you need to cancel a Local Event after tickets have sold, contact StoneFjord support to arrange it. Support confirms the exact cancellation fee with you before anything is charged. Cancelling automatically refunds every ticket holder in full, and the fee covers the cost of unwinding those sales.

2

How it's calculated

The fee is $25 plus 5% of your gross ticket sales — your ticket price times the number of tickets sold, before the buyer fee. The total is capped at 50% of those gross ticket sales, so it can never be more than half of what your tickets brought in. On very small events the $25 base can be more than half your ticket sales, so the 50% cap is what you pay.

3

When you're not charged

Free events are never charged this fee, and neither is an event where no tickets have sold — if there's nothing to refund, there's no cancellation fee.

4

How it's collected

The fee is charged to your saved card when the event is cancelled, and it appears in My Account → Billing. Refunds to your ticket holders always go out even if the fee can't be collected — a missing card never blocks buyer refunds; the fee is then recorded as unpaid.

You're all set!
